Face shield with welding shield together with the battery-powered SR 500 or SR 700 fan and approved filters are included in the Sundström fan-assisted respiratory protection systems. The breathing hose from the face shield connects to the fan, which is equipped with filters. Overpressure in the face shield prevents particles and other pollutants from being admitted into the breathing zone. The products can also be used with compressed air attachment SR 507. This combination forms a breathing apparatus designed for continuous air flow, for connection to a compressed air supply. See separate product data sheet for SR 507. This combination protects against harmful gases/particles, radiation and spatter during welding, cutting, grinding and similar work. The design makes them useful for work in confined and inaccessible areas. The equipment can be used as an alternative to filter respirators in all situations for which filter respirators are recommended. This applies particularly to work that is hard, warm or of long duration. Before use, a welding lens with appropriate density must be mounted in the welding shield. The SR 574 is delivered with automatic welding lens EN 4/9-13 and protective polycarbonate lens. The lens must be CE marked and standard 90 × 110 mm size.
